EWB President Jovan Kovacic awarded the President of Malta HE Marie Louise Coleiro Preca the EWB Memorial Plaque for her outstanding contribution to the cooperation and understanding between the Malta and Serbia and for her help to alleviate the position of the 25,000-strong Serbian community in Malta.
MFOPD and MASE President Marthese Mugliette signed a memorandum of understanding with the Serbian Maltese Information Center represented by EWB Malta President Boban Jovanovic and witnessed by EWB President and the Trilateral Commission ExCom member Jovan Kovacic, who flew to Malta together with EWB Secretariat chief, Jagoda Kovacic, specifically to oversee and lend the organizations' support to this singular agreement.
By means of this MOU, all Serbian nationals residing in Malta will receive assisted employment services by our Supported Employment Program which is offered jointly with The President's Trust under the auspices of H.E. The President of Malta. Furthermore, both parties agreed to work together in the same Pieta premises so as to initiate both joint and individual programs and services to the community at large.
The day after, both organisations and Mr. Jovan Kovacic had a long and very fruitful meeting with H.E. The President of Malta in which the relations between our two countries were discussed at length. Other meetings with high government officials and other NGOs were held both in Malta and in Gozo. Kovacic also visited the Emergency Response and Rescue Team of volunteers run by St Lazarus at Gozo.
